Professional History

After graduating with a BA (hons) in Communications/ Audio Visual Studies from London Guildhall University, Shaun  began his career in fashion journalism by working as an editorial assistant at British Vogue.

In the late 1990's, he worked his way to becoming Managing Editor of Don't Tell it Magazine and then travelled  for the first time to Abuja, Nigeria, to assist in the re-direction of the family business. Over the next fifteen years, Shaun divided his time - working on a variety of projects in Nigeria and the U.K. While working in Nigeria, he observed the potential of Contemporary African art and began to work with artists while studying the history of African Visual art.

Setting up a Gallery and events management company, CAA, in the heart of the new Capital in 2003, Shaun started exhibiting the work of talented artists at events that included a contemporary art presentation for the arrival of President Clinton in  2001, and an exhibition of critically acclaimed artists for The HIV summit, both held at the Hilton hotel, Abuja.

Upon returning to London to promote and sell the work of CAA artists,  a themed event that would include artists of the African Diaspora and address social issues – Narrativiti, was created. In 2006 Shaun completed an MA in Art Policy and Management at Birkbeck, London University. A  Presentation entitled: Representations, Diversity and The Tate’ at Tate Modern, was conducted as part of the programme, and articles about Cultural Diversity for The Institute of International Visual arts [inIVA] and on Fashion/Art for the BBC Africa 05 website were published.

In 2008, after working in the education department of the October Gallery, Bloomsbury for a year, Shaun moved to Abuja, Nigeria to lead the Arts, then the administration departments at Oxford Manor College, a British private, multicultural secondary school.  With a career portfolio that now spanned arts; education and project management he was offered the post of Head of Education at the Thought Pyramid Gallery, Abuja, in May 2014, where he developed a world class education programme and continue working with as an international consultant.
